The UIL has released the new pre-determined sites for the state semifinals for the 2026-27 season.
The UIL basketball calendar was adjusted for the upcoming season, with the state semifinals scheduled for Feb. 27 and state championships set for March 4-6 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
The new pre-determined sites add a new layer to the basketball playoff map and carry some similarities to the classic regional tournament feel that was eliminated ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Under the new setup, both Division I & II semifinal games in each classification will be played at the designated site for the corresponding state semifinal game.
The state semifinal venue list is as follows:
6A D1/D2 Reg I/II – Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center, Fort Worth
6A D1/D2 Reg III/IV – Delmar Fieldhouse, Houston
5A D1/D2 Reg I/II – W.G. Thomas Coliseum, Haltom City
5A D1/D2 Reg III/IV – Berry Center, Cypress
4A D1/D2 Reg I/II – Legacy HS, Wichita Falls
4A D1/D2 Reg III/IV – Vandegrift HS, Austin
3A D1/D2 Reg I/II – Moody Coliseum, Abilene Christian University
3A D1/D2 Reg III/IV – Merrell Center, Katy
2A D1/D2 Reg I/II – Rip Griffin Center, Lubbock
2A D1/D2 Reg III/IV – Midway HS, Waco
1A D1/D2 Reg I/II – Frenship HS, Wolfforth
