The University Interscholastic League announced the new state championship dates for both the boys and girls state competition.
Instead of the traditional state tournament format with each regional champion playing at one venue, the new format is all championship games will be played at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
For the state semifinals, it will be a normal playoff round with games taking place at a neutral site. The regional sites will also take place in the same format rather than four teams at one venue. For the pairings, the two champions from Region I and II will face off on the left side of the bracket as the Region III and IV champion will pair up with each other in all classifications.
