Garland Sachse (29-6) vs. Plano (31-4); 7 p.m. Tuesday, Lovejoy HS

RRM Favorite: Plano

Plano have shown no problems despite being short-handed with standout and Florida signee Jordyn Merritt. Sachse have been a defensive first team and currently are riding a 14-game winning streak.

Plano have a streak of their own with a 12-game winning streak and have been led by Maggie Robbins and Mikayla Eddins.

Sachse standout Adhel Tac leads the team in scoring, averaging 13 points per game along with Tia Harvey, who averages 11 points per game.

Plano have the pedigree and a state title in the past two seasons. The defense has been key for Sachse in their playoff run and will be once again against tough opposition.

Lubbock Monterey (32-4) vs. Wichita Falls Rider (29-4); 6 p.m., Monday, Childress

RRM Favorite: Lubbock Monterey

Monterey will feature a tough defense and size that starts with Angelo State signee Maddie Stephens. For Rider, the matchup has a slight edge with a strong youth movement that starts with freshman Jaylynn Bristrow.

The bench might give the Lady Plainsmen the edge but getting in a track meet with the Lady Raiders will not be a easy battle. It will be imperative for Monterey to get a hot start. If it remains a close game, Rider will have an opportunity to advance to the next round.

Argyle (29-6) vs. Glen Rose (30-6); 7 p.m., Monday, Azle HS

RRM Favorite: Argyle

Playing earlier in the season in a double overtime thriller at the Midlothian Heritage tournament, this game will have more intrigue with this game being in the regional quarterfinals.

SMU signee Rhyle McKinney was held to 16 points to lead all scorers in the defensive affair. Glen Rose standout Hailey Ibarra did not play in this game.

Free throws would have sealed the win for Glen Rose, who led 25-16 heading into the final quarter of play, but were missed.

Of course, both teams have improved since their last meeting on December 12 and once again, the charity stripe will be the key for Glen Rose to pull out the victory along with a defense playing tight and not allowing Argyle to have space in their offensive sets.

Brownfield (29-5) vs. Idalou (30-7); 6 p.m., Tuesday, Littlefield

RRM Favorite: Idalou

Sometimes, a big win over a tradition-rich program spreads confidence along players and the Lady Cubs played with confidence and aggression. Winning the last three games over ranked opposition in their last five, Brownfield are playing their best brand of basketball currently.

Facing a team that they are familiar with and size not in their favor, Brownfield will have play smart basketball and to stay out of foul trouble in key stretches of the game.

BONUS: Mason (30-4) vs. Harper (24-7); 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Fredericksburg HS

RRM Favorite: Mason

Despite holding two wins against the Lady Horns in 27-2A play, it is difficult to defeat a team three times in a season and with the offensive firepower and athleticism that Harper hold, the run-and-gun style is something that Harper can do and run it well. The battle in the paint will also be an aspect to watch, with 6-0 sophomore Kylie Wolsey and 5-11 junior McKenzie Cano matching up in the interior. Do not be surprised if Harper pull this one out in a close game.
