In a short list of basketball realignment appeals, Saginaw was the lone school including all sports that was granted an appeal from the University Interscholastic League to move into their requested district that was 7-5A.
Georgetown Gateway, an all boys school, Kennedale, Dallardsville Big Sandy, and South San Antonio, who moved into the appeal list as of Monday prior to the appeal hearings, were denied requests to their requested districts.
In other district-moving news, 31-3A received more schools as IDEA Edinburg, IDEA North Mission and IDEA Pharr will be playing UIL basketball next season. The 3A district from the Rio Grande Valley increases to a 10-team district, which is usually the maximum for teams that a district can hold, per UIL rules.
