The UIL State Executive Committee agenda is released and Duncanville boys and girls basketball programs make the list of the two line items for the committee.
For the girls program, this marks the second meeting in three years, as the Pantherettes just completed a UIL two-year probation period.
The 10-time state champions will return to face the UIL on Monday morning at 9 a.m. to face a potential more severe punishment, on grounds of recruiting and school practice and game restrictions.
This is the second time the Duncanville girls’ program is being brought to the state executive committee for recruiting.
In April 2019, former Duncanville head coach Cathy Self-Morgan was issued the maximum three-year suspension from coaching after being found guilty of recruiting. The investigation was focused on Deja Kelly’s transfer to Duncanville.
April 2021 completed the two-year window for probation for the program, which means the UIL closely monitors the program for any more issues.
The Duncanville boys basketball program will also meeting with the UIL State Executive Committee on matters of personnel issues and the potential of forfeiting a game.
