Holding the top spot for most of the season, Martin’s Mill finished atop the final rankings in the final poll of the season, with their first ever back-to-back state title victory.
The Sandiettes of Grapeland follow behind the Lady Mustangs with a state runner-up spot and bring back most of the talent to make the same run once again this season.
Panhandle and Mason round out the top four with a state semifinalist finish to their respective seasons.
Era was the closest team to try to pull the upset against the top-ranked Lady Mustangs in the regional final and capture the sixth spot, behind Region III finalists, Marlin.
Vega and Farwell, who were eliminated in the area round, find themselves in the top 12 in the poll with their playoff path being against the eventual two teams that were in the regional final, Panhandle and Wellington.
Collinsville are a squad to look forward to next season as they finish No. 13 in our rankings, with standout Carrie Johnson returning for her senior season.
Flatonia, the district winners in 29-2A, find themselves at No. 18 with a run to the regional tournament.
Celeste, Forsan, Centerville and Hull-Daisetta round out the top 25 with a solid ride in the playoffs.
