Fairfield 76, Dallas Lincoln 51

From the first point scored to the final whistle blown, Fairfield were impressive right off the bounce.

Four different Lady Eagles finished in double figures and three recorded double-doubles in a convincing 76-51 victory for a physical and athletic Dallas Lincoln team.

It was a battle of strength on strength and the big question of which side would prevail.

Lincoln came out with their speed and hard-nosed defense but Fairfield was able to handle their pressure and hold their own.

Fairfield were dialed in from long-range, shooting six-of-nine from behind the arc and did not allow Lincoln to see the lead for the rest of the game.

The Lady Eagles advance to their first state title game in school history.

Argyle 49, Fredericksburg 38

It may have not been easy, but the Lady Eagles found a way to pull through, with Rhyle McKinney to lead the game, scoring 20 points, a game high.

The real test would be in the interior defensively for the Lady Eagles and Shelby Henches did a solid job of her defensive efforts, holding Audrey Spurgin to only four points and eight rebounds.

Fredericksburg fed off the crowd support, with school shutting down in support of the girls basketball program making their first state tournament appearance since 1995.

Argyle rode a 9-4 run in a span of the 1:04 mark in the third quarter to the 3:57 mark in the fourth that proved to be key.

In the first half, Fredericksburg tallied eight second chance points that allowed them to hang in the game. In the stretch of the Argyle run, they only had two.

Argyle look to accomplish a feat that only Nazareth have accomplished, looking for a sixth straight state title when they face Fairfield at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
