There will not be an off-night for all teams in this district. Brownwood are proved to be a tough out in district along with Lampasas, who are well-coached. Glen Rose will lose key offensive leadership as Gatesville is a team to watch coming into district.
27-4A
All five teams this past season finished above .500 overall and this district could be in the making for one of the toughest five-team districts in the state. Navarro will return four starters and are well-coached under Darrell Harborth. La Vernia is a tough side as well as Cuero and Pleasanton, who are on the rise.Â
Also as a whole, keep an eye on Region IV this year. The region is getting tougher season after season.
14-4A
Van Zandt County is a county that loves their basketball and with Canton and Van in this district, other teams like Athens and Brownsboro add on to the competition in the area. This district is tough and competitive as there may potentially not be an undefeated district champion coming out of the district as all four playoff teams have the potential to make a deep run in the postseason.Â
7-4A
As Argyle remained in Region I, their district draw added Lake Worth and Castleberry. Lake Worth is a program on the rise and you add the tight races that Krum, Decatur and Bridgeport had this past season. This is the deepest district in the entire state and all four teams have the potential to advance to at least the third round of the playoffs.
4-4A
On paper, this district will be highlighted as Canyon and Hereford, but if you squint, this district is deeper than it seems. Dumas is a team that will be playing a sleeper role in Region I as well as Pampa, a well-coached and disciplined team under Kirk Ellis. Perryton is also not a team to take lightly with their shooting ability. Every night will be well-watched from across the region.Â

2-3A
The district of doom splits to an East/West districts as this district shows its depth with state champion Shallowater, Idalou, the addition of Childress, who are a tough out and Slaton. These four teams could be the playoffs teams that qualify for the postseason but keep an eye on Abernathy and Tulia, who add depth to an already tough district.
13-3A
If Chapel Hill’s path to the one-seed in the playoffs wasn’t tough enough, then it got a bit tougher with the addition of Mineola, despite losing Sabria Dean, who will remain to be a tough team with speed. Mount Vernon are well coached and Winnsboro are tough with their size and shooting ability with upcoming talent in the underclassmen ranks.Â
20-3A
No doubt one of the toughest districts in Cen-Tex as it features regional power Franklin, Buffalo, 4A state champion in Fairfield, a well-coached team in Teague and an upcoming team in Groesbeck. This district will attract statewide attention and most notably, every night will be a grind to get a win and all playoff teams will be heading in battle-tested.
1-3A
The Panhandle puts in tough districts year in-and-out and 1-3A may be one of the more deeper districts in the Amarillo area. Dalhart, a 4A drop-down, can make some noise in the 3A ranks with upcoming talent with the likes of Canadian, Spearman and Bushland in the same district.Â
29-3A
Region IV in 3A may not be as tough as Region I, but it still features some tight district races and the Coastal Bend has a district that is a grind. Aransas Pass, Odem and Skidmore-Tynan made playoff appearances as Orange Grove drop-down to 3A and have the potential to make a district title run. Mathis is improving each year and could see them once again, in the playoffs race.
